Q&A Asus Monitor
How can I connect my PC monitor to my HDTV via HDMI?
Nov 6th
I have two Asus LCD HDMI monitors connected to my PC. They both have HDMI inputs. How can I connect one of them to my LG LD350 HDTV via HMDI? I have connected one of the monitors to the tv, and the tv says no signal. I have looked through the Display settings under Control Panel, but none of the settings help. The TV is not listed as one of the displays. Can I even have the TV display what is on the monitor via that HDMI input? If not, what are my other options? I would like to be able to watch streaming videos and videos from my hard drive on my TV.
OS: Windows 7
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-P55M-UD2
Graphics card: GeForce GTX260
PS. My motherboard and graphics card do not have an HDMI input, otherwise that would be my solution.
Yea you are both right. I thought that might be the case. My video card only has 2 vga inputs, but are being used right now by my two monitors. So I can’t connect through vga. I looked up my graphics card, and under ports it says “1 x HDMI (via Adapter).” Would that have to be vga to HDMI?
Obviously I’m a bit new to all this. Again for my video card under ports it says “TV-Out
HDTV / S-Video Out.” Can I use that somehow?
Video card: EVGA 896-P3-1255-AR GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 896MB 448-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card
UPDATE: Does it change anything that I don’t need to run all three displays at the same time? I would either be using the two monitors or the TV. I would never need all three to run simultaneously. I don’t want to have to upgrade my video card to run them all at this point.
If it comes down to it, I could just uplug my second monitor, and plug in a VGA to HDMI adapter and run the hdmi to my tv. Would that work? That would be a pain to do every time I wanted to watch something on my tv from my PC, but I am looking for a solution that doesn’t require a big upgrade (I just bought the TV so I don’t have an excess of money.)
Also, isn’t there a way to respond to your answers, or do I just have to keep updating the details?
